We’re building an indoor skatepark in White Salmon, WA and we’re looking for community partners!
We’ve secured a three-year lease in the old brewhouse for Everybody’s Brewing, in downtown White Salmon.
We’ve obtained our permit from the city, paid off the entire first year of insurance, and started the initial phase of ramp building.
What's the plan?
Our goal is to open in the spring of 2025 and to offer an after-school program for up to fifteen skaters at a time. ‘Open-skate’ sessions will take place in the evenings, where anyone can register for a spot through the website. In the summers, Skatespace will act as a home-base for our Summer Skate Camp Series, which we have been running as an outside contractor for Hood River Valley Parks and Recreation for the last few years.
Our permit to build out the space is managed by Parziale Construction, LLC. Since 1996, Mike Parziale has been designing and building skateparks for municipalities, corporations, and private residences. He has built ramps at Vans Skateboard Camp, Windell’s Summer Ski Camp, High Cascade Snowboard Camp, the Town of Andover, Massachusetts, Plymouth State University, Hood River Valley Parks and Rec, and many others.
Who’s doing the build?
How can SDS help?
We’d like to highlight SDS as a community partner and title sponsor during our fundraising phase. We’ll be putting out video content and social media, which will link to a ‘gofundme’ page, where we can showcase support from SDS and the Mid-Columbia Economic Development District. We would also install a CNC-cut SDS logo by our registration area with a statement of gratitude for your support of the youth-community of the Columbia River Gorge. Linked here is a take-off sheet, which breaks down our material needs.
